Five Reasons I Think “Roe v. Wade” Should Be Overturned

By Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
Soon there will be another contentious battle in the U.S. Senate over a Supreme Court nominee. Abortion is often the spoken or unspoken issue that lay at the root of such battles. Here are 5 reasons I think it should be overturned. Reason #5 is reason enough for me.

Who Died and Made the Supreme Court God?

By Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
[Photo by Jerry Newcombe of the backside of the Supreme Court] There is a brewing battle over the next Supreme Court justice to fill in the vacancy left by the out-going Anthony Kennedy. Activist judges on the high court, including sometimes Anthony Kennedy, have done damage to the American republic by legislating from the bench, not simply adjudicating.

"Suffer the Little Children"---Are Kids Just Pawns in the Immigration Crisis?

By Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
The controversy at the border involving children allegedly being separated from their families continues to generate headlines. Both sides, it would seem, are citing the Bible for the support of their position. Are the children here just being used as pawns in the immigration crisis?

Marriage is the Dream that Will Not Die

by Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
June is the month of weddings. The whole world, it seems, recently watched the royal wedding of Prince Harry and his bride.Despite all the attacks on it, marriage is the "dream that will not die." Marriage is a beautiful picture of Christ and His bride, the Church.

Supreme Court Cake Decision Aligns with Most Americans

By Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
A little known poll taken three years ago shows that Americans still largely want to see religious freedom, even when threatened by gay rights. By Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
[Pictured: Roger Sherman of Connecticut] There are plans afoot to do an end-run around "we the people" and essentially nullify the Electoral College. Connecticut is a part of this plan, and that's ironic, since it is known as "the Constitution State" because of the Christian compact written there in 1639---a forerunner to the U.S. Constitution.

The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth?

By Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
Silicon Valley (land of the geeks, you might say) wields an incredible amount of influence in our world through Facebook, Google, YouTube, Twitter. Sadly, we're beginning to see a pattern of censorship by them of conservative and Christian content.

God and the Santa Fe School District

by Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
Tragically, another school shooting has taken place in America. Ironically, this one occurred in a school district where, more than 20 years ago, ministers and parents were fighting the ACLU to try and promote godly values. Sadly, the ACLU won, godlessness reigns, and people (like the shooter) act as if they will never have to give an account to their Creator.

Is God Mad at America Because of Abortion?

by Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
Some Americans seem to celebrate abortion. But it seems like abortion---with the blood of more than 60 million unborn babies killed---is something that angers Almighty God.

"Uncle Joe" Is Back?

By Jerry Newcombe, D.Min.
Despite his legacy of murdering 20-40 million people (many of whom were Christians he targeted because of their faith), Josef Stalin appears to be making a minor comeback in the hearts of some today on the far far left. Amazing.
