What does it mean to be set apart for another purpose? In our common understanding we do this all the time. We set apart utensils for specific cooking, tools for different tasks, and clothes for different occasions. We have many things that are appropriate for one purpose while altogether inappropriate for another. But what does it mean to be set apart for the purposes of God? When we talk about utensils, tools, and clothes we are talking about our possessions. Yet in our relationship with God through Jesus Christ, we must freely acknowledge that we are His possessions. And the Scriptures tell us that He has ordained that all those belonging to Him should be set apart for a unique purpose. What is that purpose? Dr. D.
