Sherlock Sin

Scripture: Numbers 32:20-23

There are some things that you just can’t escape, no matter how carefully you try, and one of those is the subject of Dr. Kennedy's classic message, “Sherlock Sin.” The Scripture tells us, “Be sure your sins will find you out” (Numbers 32:23b). Dr. Kennedy notes that the text does not say, “Be sure your sins will be found out.” That is what many people think it says, but it says: “Be sure your sin will find you out." Sin, the detective. Now the most famous of all detectives, though fictional, of course, is Sherlock Holmes. Borrowing his persona and his assistant, Dr. Watson, Dr. Kennedy lays out the case for "Sherlock Sin" and Dr. Guilt from what the Bible has to say. In a world ravaged by sin, you can be sure that your sin will ultimately find you out. There’s simply no escaping the light of truth which will shine on your sins and mine. But as Dr. Kennedy shares in this powerful message, “Sherlock Sin,” there’s a way to have those sins washed away—through the blood of Jesus Christ.
