I would like to ask you: Suppose that you were to die today and were to stand before almighty God, and He were to say to you, “What right do you have to enter into my heaven?”  What would you say? 

That was a question that I had never even thought about.  But when it was first asked to me, I gave an answer – and the answer that I gave was completely wrong.  I said, “I’ve tried to live a good life and follow the Ten Commandments and obey the Golden Rule.”  But the truth of the matter is: I had done none of those things and neither has anyone else.  We have all fallen short.  And I found the most amazing discovery of my life: that heaven, paradise forever and ever is unearned, unmerited, underserved, unworked for, it is absolutely a free gift. 

Do you have that gift?  If you have it, you know it.  If you answered the question as I once did, and you didn’t say Jesus Christ —if Christ is not the person that you’re trusting in for your hope of eternal life, then you have no hope at all.  I would urge you to invite Him into your heart, to place your trust in Christ alone for your salvation, and then you will know beyond any peradventure of a doubt that you’re going to be with Him forever in heaven. 

Christ has said, “He that trusts in me already has eternal life.”  Would you like to trust Him?  Would you like to invite Him into your heart and receive Him as Lord and Savior of your life this day?  If so, then bow your head and pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus Christ, divine Savior, Son of God, come into my life I pray right now.  I invite you to take over my life.  I place my trust in you.  I believe that you died in my place and paid the penalty for my sins.  I surrender myself to you.  I thank you for giving me the gift right now of everlasting life.  Help me henceforth to follow you.  In Thy name.  Amen.” 

I hope, dear friend, that you prayed that prayer just now.  If so, that’s the most important prayer you’ve ever prayed in your life.
